About
Unity Center for Youth Leadership is for youth who care about what is going on in their community.
They know that things are not fair.
They know that people are not being treated the same.
They know that something needs to be done AND they are willing to do something.
Unity offers the space, programs, and mentors for youth to get involved. Our programs, events and activities are fun yet challenging. Youth learn leadership skills, build connections with youth of different races, backgrounds, and cultures – acting together to create change.
Unity believes in the voice and power of youth to make change!
For more than 18 years we have been investing in high school students as agents for change.
Unity offers a FUN and SAFE space for everyone.
We are open to youth from all backgrounds and life experiences. Young adult staff work side by side with youth to empower them to find their voice about the things that matter to them.
Unity offers a variety of ways to get involved.
Events like Unity After Dark introduce you to Unity, are fun and only last a few hours. Unity Retreats are day long events and focus on a specific topic. We also offer workshops, listening sessions, community organizing training and a paid internship. Have ideas? Let us know!
A Message to Teens
Is Unity for you? If you are currently in high school in the Twin Cities, then you can attend any of the Unity activities. They are FREE and most require registration.
Do you have some specific talents or skills? If you’re good with words, if you always have something to say or if you like to write – check out being a Social Justice Blogger. If listening is more your style, why not explore being a Listening Session Facilitator.
Are you interested in learning about leadership and justice? We offer programs that can help you do that no matter what your experience is. Check out our teens page for more information. Or call… we’re happy to talk with you!
*Unity Center for Youth Leadership is a non-religious program of First Universalist Church
